Ladies Journey to Provence 2022!

June 11-18, 2022
Escorted by, Shelley we will join our hosts Chef Kevin Fonzo and Mikael Audebert on this wonderful journey through Provence. Enjoy the luxury of being pampered in our villa for the week (unpack once!) while experiencing the markets, villages, wine and scenery that Provence has to offer. Take part in a cooking class or lay by the pool, it is up to you! We have an amazing itinerary with so many inclusions!
Itinerary:
DAY 1
As our guests arrive in Provence, they settle in what will be their home for the next 7 days. A welcome cocktail is organized around 5PM followed by a traditional Provence dinner carefully prepared by Chef Kevin Fonzo.
DAY 2
Today, we give you a fabulous glimpse at what Provence has best to offer. First, we stop by Avignon and its famous Pope’s palace. There, our private guide awaits for a lovely 3-hour walking tour of the city and its main sites. We take a break for lunch at one of the local villages and the Abbaye de Senanques where we enjoy the incredible views of the lavender field. We continue towards L’ile sur la Sorgues where we break away for lunch (own account). Guests will be encouraged to walk the streets of this typical Provence town and its Sunday antique markets. Mid-afternoon, we continue our journey towards Gordes. Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages of Provence is located atop with incredible views of the valley. It is also the home of the Abbaye de Senanques and its famous lavender field.

DAY 3
This morning is at leisure. However, guests interested in a local markets may join our Chef as he heads to Forqualquier to shop for ingredients to be used in today’s cooking class.
Around noon, we gather in the kitchen to prepare a lovely traditional Provence lunch, and co-hosted by Gilles, our local French Chef. Both Gilles and Kevin will show you, and have guests prepare, typical French dishes, including the famous Tapenade.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Our guests will have the opportunity to discover the area hiking or biking, before dinner is served at the property.
DAY 4
This morning, we make our way to Aix-en-Provence and its local artisan and fresh market. After lunch on the lovely and famous “Cours Mirabeau”, we depart for Cassis, a quaint little port on the Mediterranean sea. There, we stroll the streets filled with local shops and artisans, as well as introduce you to the famous “Calanques” on a boat tour, complete with rose and appetizers.
DAY 5
Today, it is all about wines. We start our visit in Gigondas where we hold a tasting lunch at one of our favorite places (and Michelin star eatery). We continue with the visit of a cellar in Chateauneuf du Pape.
Tonight, dinner is held at the property and prepared by Chef Fonzo.
DAY 6
After a morning at leisure, we depart the Gorges du Verdon (the Verdon canyon) where we hold a picnic in a lavender field, followed by a 2-hour boating tour of the beautiful river. After a lovely afternoon spent relaxing (and why not, swimming), we make sure to stop by a local lavender farm where we learn more about this medicinal plant that has made it way all around the world.
DAY 7
Our last day is dedicated to Van Goh and the villages he has immortalized: Les Beaux de Provence and St Remy de Provence. In Les Baux, guests will be provided some time to wonder the medieval streets and have lunch. In St Remy, a local historian will guide you through the history of this Provence town and his famous resident.
Tonight, we hold our farewell dinner at one of our favorite local eatery, complete with wine pairings.
DAY 8
Guests are transferred to Avignon train station or Marseille airport.
