Itinerary

Welcome to Scotland!

You are met on arrival by your driver and guide. We will undertake a panoramic tour of Glasgow followed by a visit to St. Mungo’s Cathedral (also known as Glasgow Cathedral). Then we make our way to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the highlight of Kelvingrove Park, an 84-acre green area in the centre of Glasgow. The museum features a vast number of exhibits sourced from around the world in a series of themed exhibition spaces. After, you will enjoy Afternoon Tea at the famous Mackintosh at The Willow. These unique tea rooms were designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1903. This evening, we will dine on a welcome dinner at our hotel.

Glencoe, Loch Ness + Inverness

After breakfast you will depart Glasgow for Inverness travelling along Scotland’s West Coast. We will make a photo stop in dramatic Glencoe, followed by a visit to Urquhart Castle and a cruise on Loch Ness in search of Nessie. Tonight we dine as a group at our hotel.

Ayshire + Glasgow

We depart for Ayrshire, and our first visit of the day, the 18th century Culzean Castle where we learn all about the history of the castle on a guided tour that features engaging stories of former residents. After, we continue to Rabbie Burns Country and the Burns National Heritage Park where we follow in the footsteps of Scotland’s national bard to the places associated with his life and work. This evening you are free to venture out and enjoy a free night in Glasgow. Paesano Pizza is a popular spot where Italy meets Glasgow if you’re in the mood for a simple but delicious meal.

Isle of Skye + Inverness

This morning, we travel over the Skye Bridge to the capital of the Isle of Skye, Portree. You will have free time to explore the pretty harbour and town square and, if you wish, grab some lunch in a cozy pub or café. On our journey back to Inverness, we will visit the home of the MacRae family, Eilean Donan Castle. The castle is also known as the famous location for many films including Highlander and the James Bond film The World is Not Enough. Tonight is a free night in Inverness and there are many pubs and restaurants for you to enjoy that are right on your doorstep! Favorites for casual dining are Black Isle Brewery (fabulous pizza!) and Coyote Burgers. If you’re wanting something a little more upscale, try The Mustard Seed or Café 1.

North Coast 500 + Dornoch

After a leisurely morning, we travel along one of Scotland’s newest and most popular routes, The North Coast 500. Our first stop is Dunrobin Castle, Scotland’s most northernly great house dating back to the early 1300s, home to the Earls and later, the Dukes of Sutherland. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the falconry demonstration set in the formal gardens. We continue north to Dornoch where you will have free time to wander through the village and explore the Cathedral. Our final stop of the day is a Highland Whisky distillery for a guided tour and tasting of the ‘water of life.’ Tonight is another free night in Inverness.

St. Andrews + Edinburgh

Today we visit Glamis Castle, the ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372 and the inspiration for Shakespeare’s Macbeth for a guided tour. Just a few minutes from Glamis Castle is The Gin Bothy, where you are introduced to the story behind Scottish Bothies and how, by using, traditional methods they are distilling gin by using local botanicals. There will be free time in the home of golf, St. Andrews for you to roam the town and see the sights such as St. Andrews Castle and Cathedral, Scotland’s oldest university and the Northpoint Café, a favorite coffee spot of Kate and William during their time here as students. We continue to Edinburgh, our home for the next 3 nights. Edinburgh is a great city for dining, where you can indulge in traditional Scottish fayre or choose from a vast selection of bistros and restaurants that feature cuisines from around the world.

Aberdeenshire + Ballater

Today, we depart Inverness. First on the agenda is Culloden Battlefield, the powerfully moving site of the final Jacobite Rising of 1745 – the last and most harrowing pitched battle to be fought on British soil, for a guided tour. We journey into Aberdeenshire for a special treat.....meet Grace Noble and her herd of Pedigree Highland Cattle, the Hairy Coos, and flock of Scottish black faced sheep for a unique food and farm experience which includes a tour of the working farm. Here we will be treated to a delicious lunch of Aberdeenshire Highland Beef burger with salad and tea or coffee. We continue to Ballater and overnight at our charming hotel, Balmoral Arms.

Edinburgh

After breakfast in our hotel, we undertake a panoramic city tour of Edinburgh which features the “New” and “Old” towns. Next, a self-guided tour of The Royal Yacht Britannia the former royal yacht of the British monarchy. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Tonight, you will attend the Spirit of Scotland Show for an evening of traditional Scottish song and dance that includes dinner.

Today is a free day in the Scottish capital. During this time, you may wish to visit sights such Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, The Botanical Gardens and the National Museum of Scotland (just to mention a few!) or indulge in a little retail therapy and pick up those last-minute souvenirs! Tonight, we enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Non-refundable deposit of $300.00 per person, plus booking fee of $100.00+gst is required to hold your spot.
